Two things occurred that brought together this track.
One, I love Little Tiny Knife so much and wanted a chance to work with them, and this will be the first of many collabs.
Two, I have a desire to move all of my hip hop lyrics off of beats from producers who are strangers to me and on to beats that are made by people that I know so that we can retain full control of the rights to all of my songs.
In terms of lyrics, if you've been involved in a bad relationship for a long time, or multiple dysfunctional relationships in a row, a good relationship can feel off putting and as if there is wrongness to it. If you've existed for a long time in an unhealthy environment for a long time, the strangeness of a healthy environment feels a little dangerous. If you've spent years being kicked, being hugged can feel frightening.
Unfortunately, sometimes we have a desire to return to things that are bad for us simply because we feel more comfortable with what we've already known.
